2015 jobs and resources thubIt’s been too long since there’s been an update on Exoffenders, and I’m sorry for that. Between work and life responsibilities, I’ve barely had any free time to devote to the site. I’ve tried to work on what I could in the short amount of time I have lately, and there are a few updates to the site. Kansas and Maryland now have pages for reentry resources, and I hope returning citizens in those states will find them helpful. The jobs page has been updated as well, with about 10 new companies being added and some being removed. I’ll continue to use what time I get to continue to add new content to the site.

Kay, a long time contributor and friend has moved on from working on the site. She had an amazing career opportunity that she took, and won’t have the time required to actively maintain the site. We’re sad to see her go from the Exoffenders project, but are very happy she’s moving up in the world. She put an incredible amount of time and energy into maintaining this website, and her¬†work has been helpful to so many. ¬†Thank you Kay, for all you’ve done.

There isn’t much new information on our National Project for Change. Things are moving along well and we’re working with some great people who want to make a difference for ex-offenders in this country. We’ve learned a lot in the process, and hope that we can use that knowledge to better assist returning citizens.

We hope we can continue to provide and improve on our jobs and resources information in 2015. As always, the feedback on companies and other information provided by our users is invaluable. None of this would be possible without ex-offenders taking the time to share their experiences with us. Thank you for helping us improve this site.

The issue with the site not displaying/working properly today has been fixed. Sorry about that.

  1. Get registered with Hire Dynamics go to their website. Also try Staffmark. Both of these are temp agencies and they will put ypu to work. Let me know how it goes.

  2. I am also a felon. I have been really lucky on the jobs I’ve had throughout the years not doing background checks, however, more and more employers are conducting them. I won’t even apply to jobs that do background checks because I’m still humiliated, even though it’s been 13 years. I’ve worked as a paralegal, insurance sales and customer service. I’ve recently been laid off and replaced by two employees that make, together, what I made alone. I’m battling a bought of depression because I love my job, helping people and fearing workforce reentry with my felony. Just don’t know what to do anymore. :(

  3. Like most people that visit the site, they are seeking help, resources to be able to get their life back on track. I am a mother of an ex-felon ,I would love to assist in helping others,my love one. In my research I’m finding many programs no longer exist or lack information/resources. I’m in California,South Los Angeles. I just need contacts to reach out to.

Thanks and God bless the work you have begun!

  4. Greetings,

I think this site is highly underused & underrated, I can tell by the infrequently dated comments. I am a felon, but have not served my time yet, but will be soon. I plan on utilizing this site when I come home for a number of resources.

Although I do not have much time left on the outside, I am computer savvy & would like to offer my assistance/skills for maintaining the website as well.

    Thank you for this!

  5. I’m a felon in Gastonia, Nc I can paint. I’ve worked as a picker packer and stock. So if you could please help me to look at some places I may be missing in the area. Thanks in advance

  6. Check with local temp agencies, also check with goodwill and salvation army in your community. I think you will have the best luck working with temp agencies. Registering with several temp agencies is a good idea. Volunteering helps because you meet people and it shows that you make good use of your time.

  7. Well, if you ever need help keeping the site going and current, I would love to help. I am a recent parolee, and I believe sites like this are necessary and invaluable to the huge population of ex-offenders in this country. So many sites are out of date, or contain haphazard information. There is a huge need in this country for a place like this. I’d love to help if you ever need it. Thanks.

  8. I’m unfortunately not able to monitor every company for when and where they’re hiring. I know that’s not the answer you want to hear, and I’m sorry for that. Let me see if I can help you out though. Would you mind letting me know the general area in Florida you’re living in… and if you have any job skills? I’ll try to get in touch with some people I’ve met through running this site that live in Florida and see if they might have any job leads local to you.

Florida seems to be, from what I’ve heard from other ex-offenders, one of the hardest states to find work in when you have a record. I hope we can find you something ASAP so you can get back to Kentucky! Just reply to this when you get a chance and I’ll see what I can turn up.

Thanks for coming to the site :)

  9. Hello, ive been coming to this website since mid September, and find it very useful. But i want to know how can i get updates on which jobs are hiring?
